Burglars Break Into Southwest Philly Store, Steal Cash and Electronics

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Police are investigating a commercial burglary that occurred early Sunday morning at a business in Southwest Philadelphia, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

Investigators said the break-in happened around 6:00 a.m. on February 23 at Mi Tienda Hispana, located in the 7000 block of Elmwood Avenue.

Police reported that several male suspects allegedly entered the rear of the store and removed a laptop, a cell phone, and several thousand dollars in cash.

According to investigators, the suspects fled the area on foot heading westbound along Elmwood Avenue.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and are asking anyone with information about the incident or the suspects to contact the Philadelphia Police Department’s Southwest Detective Division at 215-686-3183 or 215-686-3184. The case is being investigated under DC 26-12-014565.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
