PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are asking for the public’s help identifying two individuals believed to be involved in an early-morning assault that left a man unconscious in Center City.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department’s Central Detective Division, the incident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2026, along the 1600 block of Chestnut Street. Investigators allege a 37-year-old man was walking in the area when he was approached by two unknown males.
Police said the suspects allegedly assaulted the victim, causing him to fall to the ground unconscious. Investigators allege the victim was then kicked and punched multiple times while lying on the sidewalk. The extent of the victim’s injuries was not disclosed.
Detectives are reviewing the incident and have released images of the individuals they believe may be connected to the alleged assault. No arrests have been announced, and the identities of the suspects have not been confirmed.
