MORGANTOWN, PA — A 62-year-old man has been charged following an alleged assault earlier this month at the Old Village Inn in Caernarvon Township, according to the Caernarvon Township Police Department.
Authorities said that on October 6, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault at the establishment, located at the intersection of Main Street and Mill Road. Upon arrival, Officer Samuel Frank met with the victim, who reported being attacked by another patron, identified as Anthony Romasco.
According to the police report, the victim stated that Romasco approached him at the bar, called him a derogatory name, and then struck him before grabbing him around the throat. The victim, who had visible injuries including a red mark near his left eye, told police that his glasses were knocked off during the altercation.
Investigators obtained surveillance footage from the bar, which reportedly shows Romasco walking behind the victim, pushing him with both hands, and grabbing him by the neck and torso. The footage further depicts the suspect continuing the assault despite efforts by a bartender and another patron to intervene. Police said the victim did not retaliate or attempt to strike Romasco at any point.
Based on witness statements, physical evidence, and the video recording, police filed charges against Romasco. He was arrested on October 26, 2025, and charged with disorderly conduct and harassment.
Authorities did not report any additional injuries or property damage stemming from the incident.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
