HARRISBURG, PA — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that a Beaver County man has been sentenced for involuntary manslaughter after a 2021 bar altercation that resulted in a man’s death.
Kijana Lowe, 28, of Aliquippa, pleaded guilty and received a prison term of two to five years. The sentence will run concurrently with a 10-year federal sentence he is already serving for a separate drug trafficking conviction. Lowe was also ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution to cover funeral expenses.
Authorities said the incident began as a dispute outside a Beaver County bar, where Lowe punched the victim. The man was hospitalized and underwent surgery but died about two weeks later from a blood clot linked to his injuries.
Attorney General Sunday described Lowe’s conduct as “callous and without regard for human life,” adding that the plea “offers a measure of justice to the victim’s loved ones.”
The case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Kara Cotter of the Bureau of Narcotics Investigation Section.
