BENSALEM, PA — Police are investigating the death of a 70-year-old woman found deceased inside her Bensalem home over the weekend, according to the Bensalem Township Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Hunters Court South on Saturday, October 25, 2025, to conduct a well-being check after concerns were raised about the resident’s welfare. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of an elderly woman inside the residence.
The deceased has been identified as Cynthia Bouffard, 70, of Bensalem. Police said Bouffard appeared emaciated and had likely been deceased for an extended period before being discovered. Her body was located in the living room of the home.
Detectives from the Bensalem Police Department, working in conjunction with the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and the Bucks County Coroner’s Office, responded to the scene to begin a joint investigation. Bouffard’s remains were transported to the Bucks County Coroner’s Office, where a forensic pathologist will perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
Authorities have not released additional details but stated that the case is being treated as a suspicious death investigation pending the outcome of the autopsy.
District Attorney Jennifer Schorn and the Bensalem Police Department said more information will be released once the autopsy results are available.
No arrests have been made, and investigators have not indicated that any suspects have been identified. All individuals connected to this case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
