WILMINGTON, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery that took place on the afternoon of May 17, 2025, at the Family Dollar located at 1311 East Newport Gap Pike in Wilmington.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. when a male suspect entered the store, selected merchandise, and approached the counter demanding money while brandishing a handgun. The employee did not comply with the demands, and the suspect fled the scene with the merchandise in a silver SUV.
Authorities have stated that surveillance footage and images related to the incident are not yet available. Detectives from Delaware State Police Troop 2’s Robbery Unit are actively investigating the case and are seeking information from the public.
