NEW CASTLE, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Monday afternoon at a Gulf gas station in New Castle.
According to investigators, the incident took place on September 1, 2025, at approximately 12:22 p.m., when an unidentified man entered the station located at 752 West Basin Road. Police say the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register.
The employee complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash, before the suspect fled the scene. Authorities confirmed that the employee was not physically harmed.
Suspect Description
The suspect is described as a Black male in his thirties, dressed in all black clothing. At this time, police report that surveillance footage and images of the suspect are not yet available.
The case is being investigated by the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit, which is asking anyone with information to contact Detective D. Armstrong at (302) 365-8440. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
Authorities emphasize that the investigation remains ongoing and that any suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
