WYOMISSING, PA — Wyomissing Police responded to a wide range of alleged incidents throughout January 8, 2026, handling everything from reported identity thefts and missing property to traffic accidents, alarms, and disorderly conduct as officers worked through a steady stream of calls across the borough.
The day began just after 1:40 a.m. on State Hill Road, where officers responded to a report involving a woman described as attempting to break into the home of former roommates. Police categorized the call as involving a mental health subject and followed up on the incident. No arrests were announced.
Shortly afterward, officers were dispatched to Warwick Drive for a door alarm that was ultimately determined to be a false alarm, followed later in the early morning by an automatic fire alarm at a nearby residence. Fire officials determined that incident was caused by a faulty smoke detector, and no emergency conditions were found.
During the morning hours, police assisted another department in attempting to locate an individual connected to a vehicle in Northumberland County, though the person was no longer at the Wyomissing address when officers arrived. A separate traffic stop on Park Road North resulted in a warning being issued for a registration violation.
By the afternoon, officers were handling multiple reports of alleged financial and property-related incidents. On State Hill Road, a woman reported that her identity had been used at a business, though she did not suffer any monetary loss and was provided with identity theft resources. At a business on Berkshire Boulevard, another individual reported a missing wallet containing approximately $70 in property and $100 in cash.
A disorderly conduct call later on State Hill Road involved a woman who was allegedly recording and taking photographs inside a business. Police said she left without incident after being asked to do so.
Traffic and safety-related calls continued into the evening. Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 422 near North Wyomissing Boulevard, though no injuries or tows were required. Police also investigated a suspicious incident on Bern Road after an employee reported feeling ill and lightheaded after handling a $20 bill, which was recovered and sent to the Pennsylvania Treasury for further handling.
Police also assisted West Reading officers with camera-related requests and conducted a welfare check on Woodland Road after a woman fell while crossing the street. The woman declined medical attention.
Later in the night, additional burglar alarms were reported on Berkshire Boulevard and State Hill Road, both of which were determined to be false. A carbon monoxide alarm on Margaret Drive was handled by the Wyomissing Fire Department, and a traffic stop on State Hill Road resulted in a citation for a traffic signal violation.
The day concluded with a civil dispute on Park Road North involving a disagreement over keys, which officers resolved through phone contact, and a final burglar alarm that was again determined to be false. In total, police documented 19 separate incidents during the day.
Authorities emphasized that all incidents described are preliminary and that any suspected criminal activity remains allegations. Any person connected to these incidents is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
