Traffic Crackdown Nets Dozens of Violations in Oxford

OXFORD, PA — Targeted traffic enforcement patrols across Oxford Borough led to dozens of citations and warnings, along with a criminal arrest, police said.

According to Oxford Borough Police, officers conducted approximately 15 hours of directed patrols on March 23, March 25, and March 28 in areas identified for increased traffic concerns.

Police reported that enforcement efforts focused on violations including speeding in school zones, stop sign violations, one-way violations, and equipment-related offenses. Officers also conducted license plate checks for registration and insurance compliance, scanning more than 1,900 plates.

During the patrols, police conducted 53 traffic stops, issuing 19 citations and 34 warnings, according to authorities.

Police said officers recorded 31 school zone speeding violations, along with additional speeding violations in the 200 to 300 block of South Third Street, the 600 block of Lincoln Street, and the 400 block of West Locust Street.

According to police, officers also identified five stop sign violations at Coach Street and Second Street, along with equipment violations, expired registrations, and one instance of driving without a license.

Police reported that one individual was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant during the enforcement effort.

Authorities noted that no one-way violations were observed at Coach Street and Western Terrace during the patrols.

Police encouraged residents to report ongoing traffic concerns and request additional enforcement through the department’s traffic complaint system.
