HARRISBURG, PA — A Philadelphia man is facing multiple felony charges after investigators said he allegedly possessed and distributed child sexual abuse material and secretly recorded a woman without her consent.
According to the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, 40-year-old Jason Sheasley was arraigned Tuesday on nine felony counts and three misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy. Bail was set at $500,000.
Authorities said the investigation began in January when agents with the Attorney General’s Child Predator Section received information that Sheasley was allegedly sharing numerous videos of child sexual abuse material online.
According to investigators, agents also uncovered evidence that Sheasley allegedly recorded a woman in states of undress without her knowledge or consent.
Police reported that agents executed a search warrant at Sheasley’s residence on the 3000 block of Hartel Avenue in Philadelphia last week, where electronic devices containing the alleged material were recovered.
Authorities noted that Sheasley has a prior conviction in New Jersey from 2016.
The case is being prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Michelle Laucella, according to officials.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
