NEW CASTLE, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery early Wednesday that left a man hospitalized, authorities said.
According to Delaware State Police, troopers responded at approximately 12:30 a.m. April 1, 2026, to the 3000 block of New Castle Avenue for a reported robbery.
Investigators said a 37-year-old New Castle man was walking in the area when an unknown gray SUV approached.
Police reported that two male suspects, wearing masks and dark-colored clothing, exited the vehicle and allegedly confronted the victim.
According to investigators, the suspects allegedly struck the victim with a handgun and stole his personal property before fleeing the scene in the SUV.
Authorities said the victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate.
