Aramark Destinations

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Yosemite Hospitality, a subsidiary of Aramark Destinations, has received the Leave No Trace Gold Standard Hospitality designation, recognizing environmental stewardship practices at Yosemite National Park, the company announced.

The designation is the highest level of recognition awarded by the Leave No Trace organization and is given to hospitality operators that demonstrate leadership in responsible recreation and environmental protection.

Yosemite Hospitality operates lodging, dining and recreational services within Yosemite National Park and serves visitors to the park.

“Environmental responsibility is fundamental to how we operate in the nation’s most treasured places,” said Sasha Day, president and chief executive officer of Aramark Destinations.

Company officials said the designation reflects efforts to incorporate Leave No Trace principles into guest education programs and daily operations.

Six Yosemite Hospitality employees have been certified as Leave No Trace Level 1 instructors, and the company has incorporated the organization’s principles into interpretive programs and guided activities.

The company also provides educational materials to visitors before arrival and through on-site signage across lodging, dining, retail and recreation areas.

“Leave No Trace is not just a framework for us; it is a commitment,” said Nick Sponaugle, vice president of operations for Aramark Destinations and a certified Leave No Trace Level 2 instructor.

The company said it has also implemented sustainability practices across park facilities, including composting and recycling programs, reductions in single-use items and an internal sustainability team.

Yosemite National Park receives nearly four million visitors each year, according to Aramark Destinations.

Aramark Destinations operates hospitality and recreation services at national and state parks, conference centers and other outdoor locations across the United States.
