PHILADELPHIA, PA — The William Way LGBT Community Center, a hallmark of Philadelphia’s LGBTQIA+ community, has unveiled its diverse and vibrant summer events lineup for 2025. Located at 1315 Spruce Street, in the heart of the city’s Gayborhood, the Center aims to foster joy, connection, and celebration through its offerings, catering to a wide audience across the region.

“This summer’s lineup is all about joy, connection, and creating spaces where everyone feels seen, celebrated, and supported,” says Chief Operating Officer Darius McLean. “These events offer powerful opportunities to come together—not just to have fun, but to build lasting community and uplift one another in the process.”

Among the highlights is the highly anticipated Summer Vibes Block Party, returning on July 19 as a celebration of Trans Joy. The free event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m., featuring live performances, workshops, community resources, and food from local vendors.

Throughout June, the Center will mark Pride Month with its Monday Night Events Series, held weekly from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Mark Segal Ballroom. The series kicks off on June 2 with Pock-A-Book Bingo, a women-only event hosted by Tina Montgomery that combines fun, fashion, and prizes. On June 9, attendees can enjoy a preview screening of The Kiyoshi Project, a documentary exploring the activism and enduring legacy of Kiyoshi Kuromiya. The series concludes on June 23 with Fierce & Fabulous: Drag Bingo, promising high-energy entertainment and show-stopping performances.

For art enthusiasts, the Center is hosting a trio of exhibitions that highlight LGBTQIA+ talent and history. From now through June 30, visitors can explore Refigured, Unframed, featuring artwork from Philadelphia Queer Life Drawing. Starting June 5, 19 Portraits by Prince Anthony Thomas will debut in honor of Juneteenth, celebrating Black LGBTQ+ Philadelphians through detailed pencil renderings and biographical tributes.

The summer events also include Slay the Game: Pride Edition on June 16, a gaming night with classic and themed options, and Weave The Way 2025 on June 28, a farewell celebration for Executive Director Chris Bartlett as he concludes his impactful 15-year tenure.

Beyond these seasonal experiences, the Center continues its year-round support of the LGBTQIA+ community through initiatives like peer counseling and programs for LGBTQIA+ elders. This summer, elder-focused activities include trips to cultural institutions, dance sessions, and health education workshops.

Events like these underscore the William Way LGBT Community Center’s ongoing mission to create inclusive spaces that enrich and uplift community members. For tickets, event details, and further questions, visit the Center in person or contact them directly.
