LANCASTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the start of a crack sealing project targeting multiple routes in Lancaster County. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to preserve roadway infrastructure and enhance travel safety throughout the region.
Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 23, on Route 462 west of Lancaster City. Crack sealing will be performed on Routes 23, 72, 222, 272, 324, 372, 441, 462, 741, 999, and several other roadways across Lancaster County.
Nightly operations will take place from approximately 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM on Routes 462, 741, 222, and 999. On other routes, work will be conducted during daytime hours. Rolling lane closures will be in effect, and motorists are urged to exercise caution and be mindful of construction vehicles and crews.
The project, valued at $1,793,947, is being executed by Annseal of PA, Inc., based in Little Meadows, PA. Work is expected to continue through December 15, 2025, weather permitting.
PennDOT has emphasized the importance of driving safely through work zones, urging travelers to remain vigilant, follow posted signage, and prioritize the safety of road crews.
