LANCASTER, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that alternating lane closures are scheduled on Route 222 in Lancaster County the weekend of Friday, August 22, through Monday, August 25, to allow for expansion dam repairs on bridges between the Bushong Road and Pool Road overpasses.
Weather permitting, closures will be in place from 8:00 PM Friday to 6:00 AM Monday in both directions, with an 11-foot width restriction during the work.
The repairs are part of an $8.49 million, 3.3-mile pavement preservation project spanning Manheim, Warwick, and West Earl townships. Most paving and resurfacing is complete, but overnight lane restrictions on southbound Route 222 and periodic weekend closures will continue for bridge pavement and expansion joint replacement.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, is the project contractor. Completion is anticipated by October 20, 2025.
