TRAINER, PA — The Trainer Borough Police Department announced it is accepting applications for full-time police officers, offering a 2026 starting base salary of $95,666 with no step scale, according to a department release.
Applicants will begin at full base pay and receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a pension plan with a five-year Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP), paid time off, education bonuses, longevity incentives, continuous training, and a 10 percent shift differential. Officers will work 12-hour shifts.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old, U.S. citizens, and possess a valid driver’s license. Applicants must also have a high school diploma or equivalent and be Act 120 certified by November 14, 2025. Individuals with felony or misdemeanor convictions are not eligible.
The application deadline is 3:30 p.m. on November 14, 2025. A written examination is scheduled for 9 a.m. on November 17, followed by an oral exam at noon the same day. Both exams will take place at the Trainer Police Department headquarters, located at 4300 Township Line Road in Trainer.
