PHILADELPHIA, PA — A new chapter in Philadelphia’s holiday tradition begins this season as the historic Wanamaker Building debuts Shops at The Wanamaker Light Show, an indoor holiday market that merges artisan retail with one of the city’s most enduring seasonal spectacles.

Opening November 28 and running through Christmas Eve, the market transforms the Grand Court — home to the famed Wanamaker Light Show — into a festive indoor shopping destination featuring 30 curated local vendors. The event is presented by the creators of Christmas Village in Philadelphia in partnership with the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation.

Shoppers can explore handcrafted gifts, festive décor, and seasonal treats, all under the glow of more than 100,000 dancing LED lights accompanied by the music of the historic Wanamaker Organ. The new market complements the building’s two cornerstone attractions, the Wanamaker Light Show and Dickens Village, offering visitors a cozy escape from the city’s outdoor winter bustle.

“When we heard about the Philadelphia Visitor Center’s initiative to bring the Light Show back, we didn’t think twice — we were happy to be part of this effort,” said Dr. Thomas Bauer, organizer of Christmas Village in Philadelphia. “Artists, designers, and crafters will fill the space with life beyond show hours and offer unique gifts in a heated space of traditional Philadelphia holiday enjoyment.”

The launch of Shops at The Wanamaker Light Show marks the latest expansion in Philadelphia’s growing network of holiday markets. Organizers behind Christmas Village also oversee seasonal attractions at City Hall, Love Park, and Dilworth Park, as well as the Festival of Trees at the Love Park Welcome Center.

The new market features an eclectic mix of local artisans, from hand-blown glass and fine jewelry to gourmet confections and home décor. Vendors include Occasionette, B and B Glass Studio, Winterborn Alpaca, The Bacon Jams, Lily Lough Jewelry, and Retro Cool Stufff.
