PHILADELPHIA, PA — Vitable Health has launched its Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) services in Ohio, offering small businesses a streamlined, tax-advantaged solution to provide employees with access to real, ongoing healthcare—not just insurance.
The expansion aligns with the implementation of Ohio House Bill 133, which delivers a $400-per-employee tax credit to small employers who provide healthcare coverage through ICHRAs. Vitable’s model capitalizes on that incentive by combining ICHRA administration with integrated virtual primary care, mental health coaching, prescription coverage, and diagnostic services—all delivered through a mobile-first platform.
While ICHRA adoption is gaining traction nationally, most providers stop at plan administration, leaving employees without an actual care network. Vitable Health aims to close that gap by delivering accessible, on-demand care as part of the benefits experience.
“This expansion is about more than crossing state lines; it’s about closing the gap between coverage and care,” said Joseph Kitonga, CEO of Vitable Health. “Too often, access ends at the insurance card. With Vitable, we’re not just offering compliance, we’re offering care.”
The platform allows small businesses—particularly those in high-turnover industries such as food service, construction, home health, and retail—to offer healthcare coverage that is both affordable and functional. With the $400 tax credit now in place, many employers can reach a net-zero cost in the first year while still delivering comprehensive benefits.
For employees, the offering provides a path to ongoing care with no deductibles, copays, or surprise bills. Services include unlimited virtual visits, mental health support, routine lab work, and access to essential prescriptions. The model is particularly aimed at historically uninsured or underinsured workers who often delay care or rely on emergency rooms.
“This is a moment of alignment,” Kitonga added. “Ohio’s policy leadership, the rising adoption of ICHRAs, and Vitable Health’s primary care-first model are all converging toward a system where small businesses can finally afford to offer real healthcare.”
The move into Ohio marks a strategic expansion for Vitable Health as it continues building a national footprint around a care-delivery model designed for today’s workforce.
