PHILADELPHIA, PA — Viking Mergers & Acquisitions has opened a new office in Philadelphia, extending the firm’s footprint into its ninth state and positioning it to capture rising merger-and-acquisition activity among small- and mid-sized businesses in the region.
The new office is led by Managing Partner Geoff Veale, who brings more than 25 years of experience across private equity, investment banking, operations, and direct investment in family-owned companies. Viking said the expansion strengthens its ability to advise entrepreneurs navigating increasingly complex ownership transitions amid strong buyer demand.
“Philadelphia is a market with deep entrepreneurial roots, long-standing family businesses, and a broad base of industries,” Veale said. He added that business owners in the region are facing heightened complexity as they evaluate growth, exit, and succession options.
The firm cited the Philadelphia area’s position between New York and Washington, D.C., along with its mix of manufacturing, industrial, financial services, technology, and life sciences sectors, as key drivers of sustained M&A activity and strategic interest from buyers.
Veale previously founded Outrider Capital Partners, a private investment firm focused on providing long-term capital to family businesses. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Milestone Partners, Jefferies Capital Partners, and J.P. Morgan Securities, advising on mergers and acquisitions across multiple industries.
Viking said Veale’s background as both an investor and advisor enables the firm to guide owners through transactions with a focus on value maximization and informed decision-making.
“I’ve spent my career on both sides of the table,” Veale said. “That perspective allows me to guide business owners through the process with transparency, empathy, and a clear understanding of what buyers look for.”
The Philadelphia office marks Viking’s latest geographic expansion as competition intensifies for quality middle-market deals nationwide.
