Vertex Pushes Into AI Tax Compliance With New CPA.com Partnership Expansion

Vertex

KING OF PRUSSIA, PAVertex Inc. (NASDAQ: VERX) and CPA.com announced an expanded partnership that brings artificial intelligence deeper into the sales tax compliance process, offering accounting firms a new automated platform developed in collaboration with Kintsugi.

The companies said the enhanced application is designed to help firms of any size manage increasingly complex state and local tax obligations. The AI-driven system supports exposure analysis, registration, return filing, and ongoing compliance monitoring, aiming to reduce manual workload while improving accuracy and scale.

Through the broadened CPA.com Firm Advisor Program, accounting firms have two options: manage client compliance directly through a white-labelled platform or refer clients for a hands-off, automated service jointly supported by Vertex and Kintsugi. Both models integrate with leading ERP, billing, and e-commerce systems and feature rapid onboarding, transparent workflows, and built-in reporting tools that allow Client Advisory Services and SALT teams to expand their service portfolios with less friction.

Bradd Wildstein, Vice President of Partner Sales at Vertex, said the new offering represents a significant advancement in how CPA firms can streamline compliance. He noted that combining Vertex’s tax technology with Kintsugi’s AI engine opens new revenue channels while simplifying return preparation.

Michael Cerami, Executive Vice President at CPA.com, said the collaboration builds on a long-standing partnership with Vertex and strengthens the ability of firms to deliver accurate, scalable compliance. He said the goal is to help practitioners focus more on client relationships and advisory work, especially as mid-market and small-business firms seek enterprise-grade compliance tools.
