Utility Work to Begin on Bethel Avenue as Part of U.S. 322 Improvement Project

UPPER CHICHESTER TWP, PA — Utility construction is scheduled to begin next week on Bethel Avenue as part of a major infrastructure initiative to widen and reconstruct a 1.4-mile segment of U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) in Upper Chichester Township, Delaware County.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the work is set to take place Monday, August 4, through Friday, August 29. Lane closures with flagging will occur on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM along Bethel Avenue between Route 452 (Market Street) and Dutton Street. The activity involves the installation of a new gas main.

This effort is part of PennDOT’s ongoing $99.4 million improvement project aimed at enhancing safety and traffic flow on a critical corridor linking Delaware and southeastern Pennsylvania.
