PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia’s newest James Beard Award–winning arrival is turning up the heat on the city’s holiday dining season. Uchi, which opened this year at 1620 Sansom Street, has unveiled two indulgent December offerings aimed at diners eager to elevate their celebrations — whether at the table or at home.
The restaurant’s headline addition, Omakase at Home, offers a multi-course takeaway experience built around one of Uchi’s signature strengths: meticulously crafted sushi. For $120, guests can order a to-go or delivery package through DoorDash featuring the Ichi sushi box — 12 pieces of dressed nigiri, two makimono rolls and a serving of Uchi’s acclaimed hama chili — alongside chicken karaage, Brussels sprouts with fish caramel and lemon, and a pint of the restaurant’s rich Fried Milk ice cream. The limited-time menu is available through December 30.
For those booking a table instead of delivery, the restaurant is also offering a short-run Karaage + Caviar promotion from December 1 to 14. The dish layers crispy fried chicken with brown butter, maple, crème fraîche, shallots and chives, topped with one ounce of Paddlefish caviar from The Caviar Co. The price point — $48 — can be complemented by a bottle of Laurent-Perrier “La Cuvée’’ Brut Champagne for $33, a 50% discount off its regular listing.
To round out the holiday push, Uchi is extending a bonus for gift card buyers. Between November 28 and December 31, customers who purchase $200 or more in e-gift cards will receive an additional $30 e-card. While physical gift cards do not qualify for the promotion, they can still be purchased in person or online, and cards ordered for shipping by December 10 are expected to arrive before Christmas.
With its mix of premium seafood, elevated comfort flavors and high-end add-ons, Uchi’s holiday lineup marks the restaurant’s boldest effort yet to capture Philadelphia’s seasonal dining crowd — and perhaps turn a few December traditions on their head.
