WILMINGTON, DE — Ualett has appointed Samantha Yoder as Vice President of Product, strengthening the fintech firm’s push to build financial tools tailored to the fast-growing independent workforce. Yoder will oversee product strategy and development as the company expands its offerings for underbanked gig workers across the U.S.
Ualett provides cash advances to rideshare drivers, housekeepers, truckers, and other 1099 earners by using real-time income data rather than traditional credit scores. Its model is designed specifically for workers who face volatile earnings and limited access to mainstream financial services. By eliminating credit checks, offering funding in under 24 hours, and providing bilingual support, Ualett aims to close long-standing gaps in flexible capital for independent workers.
CEO and Co-Founder Ricky Michel Presbot said Yoder brings both discipline and empathy to the role, noting her experience building “trustworthy financial systems for people who are too often overlooked.”
Yoder joins Ualett with nearly a decade of experience in financial infrastructure. She most recently led innovation in domestic and emerging payments at HSBC and previously held key product roles at Dwolla and Citi, contributing to scalable payment systems across diverse user groups.
In her new role, she will guide the development of tools aimed at helping gig workers manage irregular income and work toward financial stability—capabilities that have become increasingly important as independent labor becomes a larger share of the economy.
Yoder said the mission resonated with her. “Independent workers are powering our economy, yet underserved at every financial touchpoint,” she said, adding that she is eager to expand Ualett’s product suite to meet the evolving needs of 1099 earners.
The appointment comes on the heels of Ualett securing a $150 million debt facility, capital the company says will fuel product innovation and scale its impact as demand for alternative financial access continues to rise.
