Tragic Loss in Newark Crash: Police Seek Answers in Fatal Collision

NEWARK, DE — The Delaware State Police are investigating a tragic crash that claimed the life of 91-year-old William Blevins of Newark. The two-vehicle collision occurred on the afternoon of May 10, 2025, on Sunset Lake Road, north of Broadleaf Drive.

According to the preliminary investigation, a gray 2013 RAM 150 was traveling southbound on Sunset Lake Road when a brown 2017 Honda Accord, also heading south, allegedly attempted a wide U-turn toward the northbound lane. The Honda entered the path of the RAM, resulting in a collision.

Blevins, the driver of the Honda, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on May 12, 2025. His family has been notified.

The driver of the RAM, a 60-year-old man from Bear, Delaware, was not injured in the crash.
