Tragedy on Brackenville Road: What We Know About the Fatal Motorcycle Crash

HOCKESSIN, DE — A 65-year-old Hockessin man was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon, according to New Castle County Police.

Authorities reported that on September 6, 2025, at approximately 3:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Brackenville Road for a crash involving a motorcycle.

The rider, identified as John J. Marra, 65, of Hockessin, was found unresponsive at the scene. Despite life-saving efforts by New Castle County Paramedics and EMS, he was pronounced dead.

The New Castle County Division of Police Traffic Services Unit has taken over the investigation. Detectives are seeking assistance from the public, asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant surveillance footage to come forward.
