BENSALEM, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a traffic shift and lane closures on U.S. 1 in Bucks County as part of a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and enhance a three-mile section of the highway in Bensalem and Middletown townships.
Starting Monday night, May 12, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane closures will occur on U.S. 1 in both directions between Rockhill Drive and Fairhill Avenue. Additionally, on Thursday, May 15, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, Rockhill Drive will experience closures in both directions between Overlook Boulevard and Neshaminy Boulevard.
The traffic shift will temporarily redirect northbound and southbound U.S. 1 traffic onto the northbound side through the work zone. This adjustment will allow crews to rebuild the roadway at existing crossovers and is expected to remain in effect until mid-June.
Motorists traveling in the affected areas should anticipate delays and allow extra time. All scheduled work is weather dependent and may change as needed.
