FORT WASHINGTON, PA — Toll Brothers (NYSE: TOL) has again claimed the top spot among U.S. home builders on Fortune magazine’s 2026 list of the World’s Most Admired Companies, marking the ninth time the luxury builder has earned the industry’s highest distinction.
The annual ranking is based on a wide-ranging survey conducted by Fortune in partnership with Korn Ferry, drawing responses from executives, corporate directors, and Wall Street analysts across 685 of the world’s largest companies in 51 industries and 29 countries. Companies were evaluated on nine criteria, including quality of management, investment value, product excellence, social responsibility, and ability to attract and retain talent.
Toll Brothers’ repeat performance at the top of the homebuilding category highlights its sustained reputation for quality and leadership as the housing industry continues to navigate shifting market conditions, rising costs, and evolving buyer expectations.
Douglas C. Yearley Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of Toll Brothers, said the recognition reflects decades of focus on craftsmanship, customer experience, and long-term value creation. He credited the company’s workforce for maintaining high standards across its national footprint and said the honor resonates beyond the homebuilding sector.
Fortune Editor in Chief and Chief Content Officer Alyson Shontell said companies on the 2026 list stood out for innovation, resilient leadership, and global impact, particularly as emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence reshape industries and business models.
Founded in 1967 and publicly traded since 1986, Toll Brothers is a Fortune 500 company and the nation’s leading builder of luxury homes. The company operates in more than 60 markets across the United States, serving first-time buyers, move-up purchasers, active-adult communities, and second-home customers.
Beyond home construction, Toll Brothers runs a vertically integrated platform that includes architectural and engineering services, mortgage and title operations, land development, smart home technology, landscaping, and building components manufacturing.
The latest recognition adds to a long list of industry honors for Toll Brothers, including multiple Builder of the Year awards, reinforcing its position as a bellwether in luxury residential construction and a consistent standout in Fortune’s global rankings.
