The Buttery Expands With New Ardmore Location at Suburban Square

The Buttery

ARDMORE, PA — The Buttery will open its newest café inside the Ardmore Farmer’s Market at Suburban Square on Saturday, October 4, with a soft opening running October 1–3. The expansion marks the third location for the bakery-café brand, known for its handcrafted coffee, scratch-made pastries, and artisanal breads.

To mark the grand opening, The Buttery – Ardmore will give away its signature sable cookies to the first 100 customers, with purchase, on both Saturday and Sunday.

“Community has always been at the heart of The Buttery,” said John Rhoads, co-owner. “Our goal is not only to serve exceptional food and drink, but to foster connections with the communities where we work. Ardmore’s bustling farmer’s market felt like a great next step for us, and we’re excited to be a part of it.”

The menu will feature established favorites such as croissants, scones, and the ham and brie baguette sandwich, alongside new offerings including chicken katsu, pastrami reuben, and house-made bagels with spreads.

Founded in 2015 by John and Silenia Rhoads, The Buttery has grown from its Malvern flagship to a satellite café at Malvern Station, with further regional expansion planned. The opening of the Ardmore location coincides with The Buttery’s 10-year anniversary.

Supporting its growth, the brand operates a Bakehouse in Norristown, a dedicated production kitchen supplying breads, pastries, and savory items daily to all locations. Meanwhile, the original Malvern café will undergo a full redesign this fall, adding new seating and a refreshed menu while preserving its role as a community hub.
