PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Aspen Group (TAG) has been recognized with the Brandon Hall Group™ Silver Award for Excellence in the “Best Use of AI for HR” category, honoring its strategic use of Phenom’s artificial intelligence platform to transform recruiting and hiring across its national healthcare network.
TAG, which operates five retail healthcare brands and employs more than 15,000 professionals, implemented Phenom’s AI technology to enhance candidate engagement, streamline recruitment, and strengthen hiring outcomes. The partnership enabled TAG recruiters to expand talent reach by 33%, identify 1,840 qualified candidates, and achieve time savings exceeding 100 hours in a single quarter — with 20% of sourced candidates ultimately joining the organization.
By leveraging Phenom’s AI-powered capabilities, TAG automated much of the administrative burden associated with hiring while keeping human decision-making central to the process. Recruiters gained access to smart analytics that identify talent patterns, sourcing tools tailored for healthcare professionals, and a generative AI chatbot capable of handling over 1,500 candidate inquiries. These efficiencies freed up an average of ten hours per recruiter each week, allowing for more personal interaction with candidates.
“This award recognizes our commitment to using technology thoughtfully to enhance our hiring process while preserving the personal touch that makes healthcare careers so rewarding,” said Lizzie Garner, one of TAG’s Chief People Leaders. “Phenom’s AI solutions have enabled our recruiters to spend more quality time with candidates — having deeper conversations about their career goals and showing them the growth opportunities available within our organization.”
Rachel Cooke, Chief Operating Officer of Brandon Hall Group and leader of the HCM Excellence Awards® program, praised TAG’s accomplishment, noting that this year’s winners “exemplify the transformative power of strategic human capital management” and set new standards for people-focused innovation.
TAG’s recognition highlights how artificial intelligence, when implemented with purpose and oversight, can optimize recruitment in sectors where workforce quality directly impacts service delivery — blending technological efficiency with the human connection essential to healthcare.
