BRISTOL, PA — TESCO Metering has been named one of the first manufacturers to achieve certification in the National Electrical Manufacturers Association’s (NEMA) Make It American™ program. This recognition positions the company as a leader in domestic manufacturing compliance under the Build America, Buy America Act (BABA). TESCO earned both Supply Chain Process Certification and Product Certification, affirming its ability to meet rigorous domestic content standards through third-party audits.
“For over a century, TESCO has engineered and built the products that keep our power grid accurate and reliable,” said Tom Lawton, President and CEO of TESCO. “We’re proud to be a pilot partner in the Make It American program and a leader in supporting BABA initiatives—ensuring our utility customers receive not only the best testing equipment but one that’s manufactured right here at home.”
TESCO utilizes a vertically integrated approach to manufacturing, with all design, engineering, machining, and production activities taking place at its facility in Bristol, Pennsylvania. This model ensures quality, traceability, and transparency across every stage of the product lifecycle.
The Make It American program, established by NEMA, certifies manufacturers and products that meet BABA’s domestic content requirements. It aims to provide confidence to manufacturers, government agencies, and procurement officials seeking U.S.-made materials. Initially, certification is available for low-voltage power distribution equipment and wire and cable, with plans to expand to additional product lines.
“TESCO Metering’s leadership as one of the first companies to achieve certification through NEMA’s Make It American™ Program demonstrates their strong commitment to U.S. manufacturing, the creation of high-quality American jobs, and the enhancement of our nation’s critical energy infrastructure,” said Debra Phillips, President and CEO of NEMA. “Their example sets a powerful precedent for the industry.”
Beyond metering equipment, TESCO continues to support U.S. manufacturing through its Dial Machine Division, which provides contract manufacturing services for OEMs and technology companies aligning with BABA standards. With in-house capabilities ranging from CNC machining to small-batch production, TESCO facilitates reshoring initiatives and the production of mission-critical components.
As infrastructure modernization accelerates across the country, TESCO’s certified processes, vertically integrated production, and commitment to domestic manufacturing make it a vital partner for utilities and public agencies. By leading the way in meeting federal domestic content standards, TESCO reinforces its impactful role in strengthening the nation’s energy and manufacturing infrastructure.
