StorPool Launches Oracle-Integrated HCI Platform as VMware Migration Pressures Mount

StorPool Storage

NEW CASTLE, DEStorPool Storage unveiled what it calls the first fully software-based hyperconverged infrastructure platform integrated with Oracle Virtualization, offering organizations a new path away from VMware as industrywide migration pressures accelerate.

The new HCI solution combines compute, storage, networking, and orchestration into a unified stack designed to simplify deployment and reduce the friction often associated with shifting from legacy hypervisors or repatriating workloads from public cloud platforms. StorPool said its integration delivers sub-100 microsecond in-VM latency, automated data management, high availability, and optional replication for disaster recovery.

By pairing its software-defined storage with Oracle’s KVM-based virtualization management, the company aims to give enterprises a predictable support model and the ability to scale without relying on proprietary ecosystems. The platform also supports disaggregated expansion using compute-only or storage-only nodes for organizations that need flexibility beyond traditional HCI architectures.

The combined system enables customers to replace VMware environments with minimal disruption, allowing dual-run periods and automated migration workflows to limit downtime. StorPool also emphasized cost advantages through reduced vendor lock-in, more efficient resource utilization, and pay-as-you-grow pricing for the storage layer.

The shift comes at a time when Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware has pushed many businesses to reconsider their virtualization strategies. StorPool noted that rebuilding on open-source KVM infrastructure can be complex, requiring integration of multiple layers — a process the company says its platform streamlines by delivering a ready-made, fully supported stack.

“Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware has fundamentally reshaped the global virtualization landscape, creating a cascade of challenges for organizations,” said Boyan Ivanov, CEO of StorPool Storage. He added that StorPool’s long history powering high-performance production environments, combined with Oracle’s global footprint in business-critical virtualization, creates a “future-ready” platform capable of supporting demanding workloads.

The StorPool HCI Solution for Oracle Virtualization is now available globally to enterprise customers.
