LANCASTER, PA — Marking National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the female executives of the Lancaster Stormers are rolling out a monthlong initiative designed to channel funding, mentorship, and visibility toward local girls’ youth programs and the future of women in sports leadership.
The effort, led by the 10 women serving in the Stormers’ front office, aims to sell 5,000 tickets priced at $10 each. Half of every ticket sold — $5 — will be directed back to girls’ youth sports programs in the Lancaster area, creating a direct pipeline from professional baseball to grassroots development.
Team officials said the initiative is entirely female-run and reflects a broader commitment to access, mentorship, and opportunity for young girls who see sports as a pathway for growth, confidence, and leadership.
“As a woman in sports, I take great pride in helping to create opportunities for those who envision themselves in this industry,” said Alexandra Bunn, the Stormers’ vice president and assistant general manager. “Through this initiative, we want girls and women to feel empowered, confident, and supported as they discover their potential and pursue their own paths in sports leadership.”
The campaign will run throughout February and is positioned as both a fundraising effort and a statement about representation within professional sports organizations. Stormers officials said proceeds will support programs that emphasize teamwork, education, and personal development, with the goal of strengthening the next generation of female athletes and sports professionals.
Chief Executive Officer Mike Reynolds said the initiative also carries personal significance.
“Throughout my career in sports, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many exceptional women, including so many right here in Lancaster,” Reynolds said. “As a father of daughters in sports and a colleague of women who continue to lead and inspire, this initiative is especially meaningful to me. I’m proud of our team for taking a leadership role in celebrating and supporting girls and women in sports.”
The Stormers noted that the organization continues to view Penn Medicine Park as more than a baseball venue, positioning it as a hub for community-driven programs and partnerships that extend beyond the field.

Team officials said the initiative reflects a long-term vision of building opportunity in sports while ensuring young girls see clear, attainable pathways into athletics and sports leadership roles.
