PHILADELPHIA, PA — Spring is bursting to life at the Philadelphia Zoo, where families can explore a season filled with baby animals, Easter celebrations, and brand-new attractions designed to make every visit feel like an adventure.

As warmer weather returns, the Zoo’s 42-acre campus comes alive with color, activity, and energy—offering something new around every corner, from hands-on animal encounters to festive seasonal events.

Easter Fun and Family Traditions Take Center Stage

This spring, the Zoo is inviting families to create new traditions with a lineup of Easter-themed experiences.

The popular Bunny Brunch returns on select dates, giving guests the chance to enjoy a festive meal, meet the Easter Bunny, and get up close with ambassador animals. For younger visitors, three days of Easter Egg Hunts will bring excitement and surprises, while the self-guided Egg-cellent Egg Search encourages guests of all ages to explore the Zoo while learning about unique eggs across the animal kingdom.

New Attractions and Animal Encounters

Beyond Easter festivities, the Zoo is debuting several new experiences for spring visitors.

Guests can soar 110 feet above the city on the Philly Zoo Pherris Wheel, offering sweeping views of the skyline and blooming gardens below. Animal lovers can also welcome the return of penguins, including a new colony of Magellanic penguins at Hollenstein Ross Penguin Point—the first time this species has been featured at the Zoo in more than 75 years.

Spring also brings new life, including a baby François langur now on view in Primate Passage, while the addition of the eastern hellbender—Pennsylvania’s state amphibian—offers another unique species for visitors to discover.

Interactive experiences return as well, including the popular giraffe feeding encounter, giving guests a chance to connect with the animals in a memorable way.
