PHILADELPHIA, PA — Sophie’s BBQ will open a new location inside Love City Manayunk at 4323 Main St. later this spring, bringing a full barbecue menu to the brewery’s first expansion site.
The Havertown-based restaurant will operate seven days a week at the Manayunk location, offering items including smoked meats, sandwiches, and traditional sides.
Executive Chef and owner Greg Herman is partnering with Love City Brewing co-owners Melissa and Kevin Walter on the project, which will occupy space in the former Fat Lady Brewing building.
The new location will also serve as the exclusive caterer for private events at the two-story taproom and event space.
Sophie’s BBQ plans to preview menu items at the Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival on Sunday, April 19, where dishes will be available for purchase.
Herman previously lived and worked in Manayunk and said he is returning to a neighborhood where he began his culinary career.
“We are excited to bring our BBQ to Main Street in Manayunk as the food partner for Love City Manayunk,” Herman said.
The expansion follows continued demand for the restaurant’s offerings at its Havertown location, which will remain open.
Love City Manayunk will feature a full bar, seating for approximately 75 on the first floor, and a second-floor event space with capacity for about 60 people.
The brewery’s Manayunk site is its first tasting room expansion from its original Callowhill location.
Sophie’s BBQ said it plans to offer delivery in Philadelphia neighborhoods including Manayunk, Roxborough, East Falls, and parts of Lower Merion Township after opening.
Projected hours for the taproom include weekday evening service and extended weekend hours, though final hours will be announced closer to opening.
