Six Weeks of Closures Set for Palmers Mill/Paxon Hollow Road

MARPLE TWP, PA — Drivers in Delaware County should prepare for daytime road closures and detours beginning Monday as utility construction gets underway along Palmers Mill Road and Paxon Hollow Road in Marple Township.

According to PennDOT, the affected stretch of Palmers Mill Road/Paxon Hollow Road will be closed and detoured on weekdays while crews complete utility installation work. All scheduled construction activities are weather dependent.

During the closure, drivers will be directed to follow a posted detour using Route 252 (Newtown Street Road), Cedar Grove Road, and Route 320 (Sproul Road) to move around the work zone.

Local access will remain available throughout the project. However, motorists traveling near the construction area should expect delays and possible backups, especially during the midday hours when traffic volumes remain steady.

Drivers are urged to plan extra travel time and consider alternate routes if possible while the work is underway.
