SEPTA Rail Work to Shut Down Part of Lancaster Avenue

PHILADELPHIA, PA — SEPTA announced that rail improvement work will close a section of Lancaster Avenue in Philadelphia starting Saturday, October 12.

From October 12 through Saturday, November 15, Lancaster Avenue will be closed around the clock between 40th Street and Brandywine Street. Detours will direct traffic onto 42nd Street and Spring Garden Street, with additional reroutes at Wallace Street and Haverford Avenue. Local access will be maintained.

Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time, as congestion is anticipated throughout the work zone. All work is weather dependent.
