PHILADELPHIA, PA — Romance has slipped behind a secret door in Northern Liberties as Newsroom Philly unveils Cupid’s Nest, a Valentine’s and Galentine’s themed pop-up speakeasy designed to transform the heart of winter into one of the city’s most immersive seasonal nightlife experiences.
Now open for a limited time, Cupid’s Nest invites guests to enter through a concealed entrance along North 2nd Street, pass through a rose-covered tunnel, and step behind a red velvet curtain into a dimly lit space filled with hundreds of roses, glowing hearts, twinkling red and pink lights, and formal red linen-covered tables. The experience is designed to feel cinematic and intimate, blending classic romance with modern nightlife energy.
The pop-up runs Wednesday through Sunday throughout the Valentine’s season and caters to couples, friend groups celebrating Galentine’s, and late-night crowds seeking something beyond the typical dinner-and-drinks formula. On select nights, aerial circus artists perform on a custom-built glowing red heart hoop suspended above the room, adding a dramatic visual centerpiece to the experience.
Inside, guests will find multiple photo stations, immersive floral installations, and a rotating calendar of programming that includes DJ-led parties, themed happy hours, karaoke nights, brunch events, and live aerial performances. A full menu of Valentine-themed cocktails anchors the bar, alongside elevated kitchen offerings designed for sharing.
The pop-up also features a late-night happy hour with $8 specialty cocktails and a Valentine’s Day prix fixe dinner priced at $69 per person. The fixed menu includes a complimentary glass of champagne, a take-home bottle of wine, multiple course options, and dessert, positioning the venue as both a nightlife destination and a full-scale dining experience.
Reservations are available through OpenTable and Resy, with walk-ins accepted as space allows. Due to the intimate layout, reservations are strongly encouraged. Newsroom Philly is also offering the space for private events and corporate functions during the run.
