Sallie Mae Fund Opens Applications for 2026–27 Scholarship

NEWARK, DE — Sallie Mae (Nasdaq: SLM) announced that applications are open for its 2026–27 Bridging the Dream Scholarship for High School Seniors, which provides financial aid to eligible students pursuing higher education.

The program will award up to $10,000 each to 30 high school seniors who are Pell Grant-eligible and plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year college, certificate or technical program.

The scholarship is administered by the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and is intended to support students with demonstrated financial need, the company said.

“Deciding what comes after high school is one of the most important financial and personal decisions students will make,” said Nic Jafarieh, executive vice president at Sallie Mae.

Dr. Harry L. Williams, president and CEO of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, said the program aims to expand access to higher education for students facing financial barriers.

The application window is open through April 24, 2026, and applications are available at https://www.salliemae.com.

Sallie Mae said it has awarded nearly $5 million in scholarships to more than 1,300 students through its scholarship programs.

In addition to the Bridging the Dream Scholarship, the company offers tools and resources for students and families, including scholarship search services and no-essay scholarship programs.
