PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Roxborough Development Corporation will host the 13th Annual Roxtoberfest on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from noon to 5 p.m., transforming Ridge Avenue into a fall-themed celebration that combines Oktoberfest traditions with family-friendly entertainment, art, and community engagement.
Stretching from Lyceum Avenue to Leverington Avenue, with a Scarecrow Walk leading to Gorgas Park, the festival will feature more than 100 vendors, live music across three stages, food trucks, craft beer, costume contests, cemetery tours, and activities for children. Admission is free, with food and beverages available for purchase.
What began in 2013 as a modest neighborhood gathering has grown into one of Philadelphia’s most recognizable fall festivals. This year’s event introduces several new elements, including a root beer stein competition for children, a dedicated community stage sponsored by Jefferson Health Partners, and a cultural collaboration between Art on the Ridge and Fleisher Art Memorial’s El Mercado, showcasing the work of 14 Latin American artisans.
Executive Director Jax Cusack emphasized the festival’s role in strengthening community ties. “This event is a true celebration of our amazing community, bringing together friends and family to enjoy the vibrant spirit of Roxborough,” Cusack said. “It’s more than just a party; it’s a celebration of creativity and community spirit.”
The festival will open with a traditional keg tapping by New Ridge Brewing Company and the RoxYunk Porchfest T-Rex, followed by performances from local bands including the Galena Brass Band, The Providers, and Mitchell Street Philbillies. Additional entertainment includes a pet costume contest, scarecrow building, historical tours of Leverington Cemetery, and a car show presented by the Ridge Runners Car Club.
Sponsors such as MGMT Residential, New Ridge Brewing Company, Independence Blue Cross, Comcast/Xfinity, and Roxborough Memorial Hospital have contributed to expanding the festival’s programming and amenities. New this year is the RoxYunk Shuttle, offering free rides between Roxtoberfest and Manayunk’s Out and About Festival, providing broader access to the region’s fall celebrations.
Board President JoAnn Desper described the festival as “a testament to the strong spirit and enduring support of our community,” highlighting its growth into a cherished annual tradition that connects residents, businesses, and visitors.
With live performances, local food and drink, artisan markets, and family attractions, Roxtoberfest continues to reinforce Roxborough’s reputation as one of Philadelphia’s most vibrant neighborhoods to live, work, and gather.
