Route 422 Lane Closures Could Jam Traffic Near Sanatoga

LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP., PA — Drivers on U.S. 422 near the Sanatoga and Hanover Street interchanges should prepare for daytime lane closures next week as PennDOT continues a major reconstruction project along the busy Montgomery–Chester county corridor.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, a daytime lane closure will be in place on westbound U.S. 422 between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Hanover Street interchanges from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday through Thursday.

A separate lane closure will also affect eastbound U.S. 422 between the Hanover Street and Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) interchanges from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Motorists traveling through the corridor should plan extra time and expect delays as traffic moves through the active work zones. Drivers may want to seek alternate routes during peak travel periods to avoid backups.

PennDOT noted that all scheduled construction activities are weather dependent and may change if conditions require.

The work is part of PennDOT’s $83.6 million project to reconstruct approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway and replace bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township.
