BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a series of road closures in Bucks County to facilitate essential base repair work on two state highways. Motorists traveling through New Britain and Plumstead townships should anticipate detours and traffic delays during the scheduled maintenance period.
According to PennDOT, Railroad Avenue in New Britain Township will be fully closed on Tuesday, August 12, between Walter Road and Barry Road, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. During this time, a detour will redirect drivers along Walter Road, New Galena Road, and Barry Road. The closure is expected to last one day, pending weather conditions.
In a separate but extended project, Stump Road in Plumstead Township will be closed daily from Wednesday, August 13, through Friday, August 29, between Route 313 (Dublin Pike) and Route 611 (Easton Road). The closure will occur each day from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as crews carry out roadway base repairs. A posted detour will guide motorists along Route 313, Curley Hill Road, and Route 611.
PennDOT emphasized that local access will be maintained for residents and emergency services throughout both closure periods. However, drivers are urged to allow additional travel time, as delays and backups are anticipated in the vicinity of the work zones. All construction schedules remain subject to change depending on weather conditions.
