PHILADELPHIA, PA — Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard introduced a new line of Gelati Sundaes at participating locations starting this week, expanding its menu with a limited-time version of its signature dessert.
The company said the Gelati Sundaes build on its traditional Gelati, which combines Italian ice and frozen custard, by adding layered toppings and new flavor combinations.
The lineup includes three options: Strawberry Shortcake, featuring vanilla Italian ice, strawberry topping, vanilla frozen custard and vanilla wafers; Bear-y Sweet, made with cotton candy Italian ice, gummy bears, vanilla frozen custard and sprinkles; and Wild ChocoCherry, combining black cherry Italian ice with chocolate frozen custard, hot fudge and chocolate chips.
Carmela Hughley, senior vice president of marketing insights and innovation at Rita’s, said the new offerings expand on the company’s existing products.
“With our new Gelati Sundaes, we’re building on what guests already love most about Rita’s,” Hughley said.
Rita’s said its Italian ice is made daily on-site and offered in a rotating selection of more than 80 flavors.
The company operates more than 600 locations worldwide and offers additional menu items including frozen custard, milkshakes and frozen coffee.
