Rick’s Tavern

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Restaurateurs Rick and Gale Mahoney plan to open Rick’s Tavern, a new Italian restaurant, in May at the former Pizza Time Saloon site at 201 W. Seventh Ave., the owners announced.

The restaurant will feature a menu that includes pizza, house-made pasta, and a selection of wines and cocktails, while also continuing to serve pizza styles associated with the previous establishment.

Rick’s Tavern will be led by Executive Chef Derek Davis, who has worked at several restaurants in the Philadelphia region, including Sonoma, Derek’s, and Kansas City Prime.

The owners said the concept is intended to combine elements of the former Pizza Time Saloon with a broader Italian-focused menu.

“With Rick’s Tavern, we wanted to capture the community spirit of the original Pizza Time Saloon while introducing something entirely fresh for today’s diners,” said Gale Mahoney.

The restaurant will also offer online ordering, delivery, catering services, and space for private events.

Rick’s Tavern is currently hiring for kitchen and front-of-house positions, with applications being accepted ahead of the opening.
