LITTLE BRITAIN TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that permanent repairs will begin Monday, October 20, on the Ashville Road (Route 2006) covered bridge over Octoraro Creek at the Chester County line in Little Britain Township.
The bridge, damaged by a vehicle strike in March, will be closed for approximately six weeks. Traffic will be detoured via Lloyds Road, Route 272, Hopewell Road, and Forge Road. Temporary repairs made in April allowed the bridge to reopen until this final phase of restoration.
PennDOT urges motorists to follow detour signs and allow extra travel time. All work is weather dependent.
