ASTON, PA — Professional wrestling and recovery advocacy will collide Friday, October 24, when MVP Recovery and Three Legacies Wrestling host Recovery Slam 2, a free, family-friendly event at Neumann University that promises high-impact entertainment with an inspiring message of resilience and community.
Held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bruder Gymnasium, the event will feature wrestlers from Three Legacies Wrestling: Ascend, including the organization’s founder and former WWE Superstar Ricardo Rodriguez. The show is open to the public, with no tickets or registration required.
The first Recovery Slam drew major attention last year after an in-ring confrontation between MVP Recovery Founder and CEO Brian Corson, Rodriguez, and Blueprints for Addiction Recovery Founder Chris Dreisbach ended in a dramatic showdown. This year, Corson and MVP Recovery’s Brian Murphy return to the ring, ready to bring action — and awareness — back to Delaware County.
“Recovery Slam is about more than wrestling — it’s about creating positive, family-friendly moments that show people recovery is possible, and community is powerful,” said Corson. “We want to give people hope, give families a fun night out, and remind everyone they’re not alone.”
Dreisbach echoed that sentiment, calling the event “a testament to the strength of this community and the belief that everyone deserves a chance to rise above their struggles.”
Rodriguez, who is in long-term recovery himself, emphasized the connection between wrestling and perseverance. “Wrestling and recovery are both about resilience,” he said. “Events like Recovery Slam show that no matter what your story is, you can keep moving forward — and we’re doing it together as a community.”
Fans can expect a full night of matches, storylines, and opportunities to engage with local recovery and support organizations. With its mix of entertainment and purpose, Recovery Slam 2 aims to prove that the fight for recovery — like every great wrestling story — is won through strength, heart, and unity.
