KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Recovery Centers of America announced that Jason Kirby, DO, MBA, DFASAM, has been appointed chief medical officer, bringing more than a decade of addiction medicine and behavioral health leadership to the national treatment provider.
Kirby is dual board-certified in addiction medicine and family medicine and has held senior clinical and executive roles across residential, outpatient, and virtual care settings. His background includes serving as both medical director and chief medical officer, with an emphasis on evidence-based treatment models, clinical quality, and outcomes-driven systems of care.
In his new role, Kirby will provide medical leadership across Recovery Centers of America, with an initial focus on listening to clinical teams, evaluating current quality and patient-safety practices, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration, and improving continuity of care throughout the patient journey.
“I was drawn to this role because it sits at the intersection of clinical excellence, organizational leadership, and meaningful impact on patients’ lives,” Kirby said. “RCA’s commitment to evidence-based, outcomes-driven care on a national scale aligns closely with my values and the work I’ve dedicated myself to over the past decade.”
Kirby earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and an MBA from Point Park University. He is also a 2024–2025 Health Policy Fellow with the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, focusing on healthcare policy and regulatory strategy related to addiction treatment.
“Dr. Kirby brings deep expertise in addiction medicine and a demonstrated record of building strong clinical systems and teams,” said Brett Cohen, chief executive officer of Recovery Centers of America. “His experience in both direct patient care and system-level leadership will support RCA’s continued focus on safe, consistent, high-quality treatment for the patients and families we serve.”
Kirby has also held national and state leadership roles within professional organizations. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and previously served as president of the Tennessee Society of Addiction Medicine. He has been selected by ASAM’s voting membership to serve as treasurer on the organization’s national executive board, with a two-year term beginning in April 2025, and will chair ASAM’s finance committee.
