PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Bluebird Distilling, the award-winning grain-to-glass distillery located at 100 Bridge Street in downtown Phoenixville, has announced an ambitious $2 million renovation project as it commemorates a decade of innovation and craftsmanship. The updates, which begin this month, aim to transform the beloved distillery into a multifaceted destination while maintaining its commitment to quality and community.

The project, titled Bluebird Social: Cocktails & Kitchen by Bluebird Distilling, will take place in phases to ensure the distillery’s cocktail bar and retail shop remain open during construction. Completion is expected this winter. The renovations will introduce a Neo-Neapolitan pizzeria and full-service restaurant, an expanded bottle shop with additional retail offerings, and a striking new bar area. This latest chapter also incorporates a fresh coffee program from Bluebird’s sister company, Char & Stave.

A Vision for Connection and Experience

“We’re not just expanding—we’re evolving,” said Jared Adkins, Bluebird Distilling’s founder and master distiller. “This next chapter is all about crafting a deeper, more dynamic guest experience. We want people to gather, linger, and connect over everything we do—spirits, food, coffee, conversation. That’s what Bluebird is all about.”

At the heart of the new design is a custom-built, rectangular bar with seats for approximately 30 guests. The surrounding area will feature an industrial-chic aesthetic, punctuated by a cozy barrel room lounge complete with a decorative fireplace and custom banquettes. Designed to foster a sense of community, the space aims to mirror the social vibrancy that Bluebird is known for.

Elevated Food and Beverage Offerings

The addition of a Neo-Neapolitan kitchen brings a curated menu of scratch-made pizza, house-baked breads, seasonal sandwiches, and salads crafted to complement Bluebird Distilling’s extensive cocktail program. Guests will have the option to enjoy their meals at a chef counter, providing a front-row seat to the culinary action.

The beverage program will expand to include local beer and wine alongside cocktails, with Char & Stave spearheading an upgraded coffee and espresso menu. Char & Stave, recognized for its tagline “Coffee made by whiskey people,” will also provide its signature coffee liqueurs and other unique products.

Enhanced Retail and Partnerships

The new retail space will display additional bottle offerings from Bluebird’s portfolio, including limited-edition bourbons, ryes, gins, and rums. Patrons will also find specialty coffee products from Char & Stave and offerings from a recently launched whiskey brand, Townie Whiskey. A dramatic barrel stave installation will serve as a centerpiece in the expanded shop, which will also house branded merchandise.

The renovation has assembled a talented team of creative professionals, including architect Paul Salvaggio, designer Michael Gruber, and creative studio True Hand Design, as well as pizza consultant Gregorio Fierro.

Looking Forward

With its 10th anniversary serving as a pivotal moment, Bluebird Distilling is poised to establish itself as a must-visit destination for both longtime patrons and newcomers. The team invites guests to stop by, explore the evolving space, and enjoy their signature drinks in this reimagined environment.

To mark the occasion and usher in these changes, visitors can expect new product releases and special announcements in the coming months. Bluebird Distilling’s dedication to community, innovation, and excellence continues to define its success as it embraces this exciting new era.
