Qlik Unveils New AI Agentic Experience Aiming to Transform Enterprise Decisions

Qlik Technologies

PHILADELPHIA, PAQlik has launched a private preview of its new agentic experience in Qlik Cloud, introducing Qlik Answers as a unified conversational interface that blends structured analytics, unstructured documents, and large language model reasoning into a single governed environment.

The company said the new experience is designed to handle complex, multi-step business questions by pairing AI-driven reasoning with calculations produced by the Qlik analytics engine. Specialized agents coordinate tasks, reference trusted data products, and provide citations and explanations to give users faster, more defensible insights.

Qlik said the preview allows organizations to generate complete answers more quickly as agents determine which capabilities to invoke. Users can combine numerical analyses with narrative context in one place, drawing on documents, data sources, and the platform’s analytical models. The system also provides transparency through citations, logic explanations, and governed calculations, while an always-available side panel in Qlik Cloud surfaces assistance based on user activity.

The company also outlined plans for its Model Context Protocol server, targeted for general availability in early 2026. The protocol will provide another access point for third-party assistants, exposing Qlik capabilities at the engine, tool, and agent levels to allow external systems to generate insights using governed data within a Qlik-hosted tenant.

Brendan Grady, general manager of analytics at Qlik, said boards are seeking faster decisions, measurable returns, and confidence in compliance. He said the agentic experience delivers “a single governed conversation” that moves from a natural-language question to a chart, an explanation, and a next step, reducing handoffs and improving accountability.

Qlik said the rollout reflects its broader focus on agentic design across its platform, including AI-assisted pipeline creation, quality checks, lineage analysis, and retrieval-augmented generation workflows that link data ingestion to decisions and actions.

Enterprises testing the preview say the integrated model could reduce operational friction. Martin Gries, head of data and analytics at H. & J. Brüggen KG, said the challenge for organizations is connecting numerical insights with contractual or policy language and turning that combined understanding into action. He said Qlik’s unified approach moves in the right direction.

The agentic capabilities are currently available to Qlik Cloud capacity-model customers through opt-in, with general availability expected in early 2026 through a phased regional rollout. Qlik said the update does not include pricing changes, and customers may continue to transact through AWS Marketplace.
