PHILADELPHIA, PA — Qlik announced the general availability of Qlik Open Lakehouse, a fully managed Apache Iceberg service in Qlik Talend Cloud designed to cut time and cost between data collection and actionable insights. The platform delivers real-time pipelines, automated optimization, and multi-engine access without vendor lock-in, offering enterprises an AI-ready data foundation.
The service operates within a customer’s cloud environment using bring-your-own-compute, combining change data capture ingestion with Iceberg optimization and access through leading engines such as Amazon Athena, Snowflake, Spark, Trino, and Amazon SageMaker. Early adopters reported faster queries and reduced infrastructure costs by shifting workloads from proprietary warehouses to Iceberg tables.
“AI stalls when data is slow, fragmented, and expensive,” said Mike Capone, CEO of Qlik. “Qlik Open Lakehouse fixes that by giving teams a real-time, Iceberg-based foundation they can run in their cloud at enterprise scale and query with the engines they already use. It brings performance, cost control, and governance into one motion so decisions happen faster and models improve every day.”
Key features include automatic Iceberg optimization to improve query performance and reduce storage costs, SageMaker-ready data stored in governed Iceberg tables on Amazon S3, and low-latency pipelines with built-in data quality and cataloging. The platform also integrates with Qlik Analytics and AI capabilities, enabling insights to trigger automated workflows in business systems.
Industry analysts highlighted the release as a major step forward for organizations adopting open table formats. “Its ability to handle large amounts of data quickly, optimize it in real time, and work with different tools in the cloud solves common problems with data being out of date, slow, or expensive,” said Mike Leone, Principal Analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group.
With the launch, Qlik aims to strengthen its role as a provider of open, scalable, and governance-driven data solutions designed to meet the demands of AI-driven enterprises.
