CHESTER, PA — Power Home Remodeling has claimed the top spot among midsize organizations on Computerworld’s 2026 Best Places to Work in IT list, a significant leap that places the company at the forefront of technology-driven employers outside the traditional tech sector.
The recognition marks Power’s first time ranked number one, rising from sixth place in 2025. Computerworld’s annual list highlights employers that challenge IT professionals while offering strong benefits, engagement, and career development opportunities at a time when competition for skilled technologists remains intense.
Company executives said the ranking reflects a deliberate strategy to treat technology as a core business function rather than a support role. Marc Sule, Power’s chief business technology officer, said the company has invested heavily not only in its technology stack but also in building an environment where technologists are encouraged to take ownership and grow their careers.
Power’s approach includes developing much of its technology in-house and expanding nontraditional pathways into IT roles. A central piece of that strategy is the Power Coding Academy, an internal training program that teaches software development skills to employees without technical backgrounds. Graduates are eligible to move into technology roles, including apprentice developer positions.
More than 35 employees have completed the academy, underscoring what the company describes as a people-first culture that emphasizes reskilling and internal mobility. The program aligns with broader industry trends as organizations respond to rapid changes driven by artificial intelligence and automation.
Barbara Call, global director of content strategy at Foundry, which oversees Computerworld, said this year’s honorees stand out for proactively reshaping their talent strategies to address evolving skills demands and workforce resilience.
The IT workplace honor adds to a growing list of external recognitions for Power Home Remodeling. The company has also been named to Fortune’s Best Workplaces for Parents and Military Times’ Best for Vets Employers list, reinforcing its broader reputation as an employer focused on culture and long-term talent development.
For Power, the top ranking signals that a construction and home remodeling company can compete with traditional technology firms by pairing internal innovation with sustained investment in people.
